Functional Overview

ShopSTAR3 is built around six principles that define what the platform must deliver — for Halo’s business, for store operators, and for shoppers.

Platform Commitments#

Compliance from Day One#

Global privacy regulations — GDPR, CCPA, and their equivalents — require that any stored personal data can be retrieved, corrected, or permanently deleted on demand. ShopSTAR3 builds compliance into the data model at every layer. It is not a feature added later; it is a design constraint that every service is built to satisfy from the start. Halo can respond to any regulatory request with confidence.

Every Capability, Native#

ShopSTAR2 accumulated workarounds: features that individual stores managed at the front-end layer, outside the platform core. Every one of those workarounds represents maintenance burden that a store carries alone. ShopSTAR3 absorbs them all as first-class, platform-managed capabilities — delivered once, available to every store, maintained by the platform team. Stores get the features; they do not carry the cost of keeping them running.

Analytics Without the Pipeline#

Operational data — orders, inventory movements, customer activity — is produced in formats that BI tools consume directly. There is no ETL layer sitting between the platform and the reports that drive Halo’s decisions. The data is there, in the right shape, in real time.

An Integration-Ready Foundation#

Any external system can subscribe to what is happening across any store and react to it in real time. Integrations are composable and store-scoped — built once, deployed precisely, without touching the platform core. ShopSTAR3 is designed to connect with any tool Halo uses or will use.

Platform Health You Can See#

Every service, every request, every failure emits telemetry continuously. At any moment — during a launch, a sale event, or an incident — the health and performance of the platform can be assessed with certainty. Not inferred from error reports. Not reconstructed after the fact. Seen, live.

Change Without Risk#

Any content or configuration change can be staged in an isolated sandbox, previewed by stakeholders, reviewed for approval, and published on a schedule — or rolled back in seconds if something goes wrong. Nothing reaches shoppers unreviewed. No change is permanent before it is ready.
