ShopSTAR3 ships a full marketing toolkit as a native platform capability — no third-party marketing app required for core growth mechanics. Promotions, bundles, upsell, abandoned cart recovery, referral programs, and social channel connections are all built in, store-scoped, and available the moment a store is provisioned.
Promotions#
Define rule-based discounts applied automatically at checkout or activated by a coupon code.
Each promotion combines a set of conditions (what must be true) with a set of actions (what discount is applied):

Promotions can be stacked or configured to stop evaluation when applied (exclusive). Stacking order is controlled by a priority setting.
Coupons#
Create discount codes that customers apply at checkout. A coupon is linked to a promotion and can be configured as single-use per customer, limited to a total usage count, or unrestricted.
Gift Cards#
Issue and manage gift cards as a separate payment balance. A gift card has a code, a face value, and a live balance that decreases as it is redeemed. At checkout, a customer applies a gift card code; the balance is drawn down and any remainder is charged to the primary payment method.
Gift card balances are separate from store credit (store credit is issued by the store; gift cards are purchased or gifted).
Upsell and Cross-sell#
Configure product recommendations displayed on item pages and at checkout to increase average order value.
Recommendations follow a two-tier model: manually pinned products (set by staff) always appear first; rule-based suggestions (products in the same category) fill remaining slots automatically.
Two recommendation types:
- Upsell — a higher-value alternative to the item being viewed
- Cross-sell — complementary items that pair well with the item being viewed
Bundles#
Create variant sets sold together at a discount (percentage or fixed amount off). Bundles are evaluated at checkout when all component items are present in the cart.
Ads#
On-site Placements#
Manage advertising campaigns served within the storefront. Supported placements: homepage hero, category banners, product page, checkout upsell slot.
Campaigns support audience targeting (shopper group, device type) and A/B testing — multiple creative variants per campaign with split traffic. Impressions and clicks are tracked per variant for performance reporting. Frequency capping limits how many times a single customer sees a given campaign.
External Ad Networks#
Connect the store to external advertising platforms for server-side conversion tracking and audience management:
- Conversion events — order placements are forwarded to Google Ads and Meta as server-side conversion signals
- Customer audience sync — customer lists are exported as hashed audiences (Google Customer Match, Meta Custom Audiences). GDPR erasure requests automatically remove the customer from synced audiences.
- Product catalog feed — product and pricing data is exported in the format required by Google Merchant Center and Meta Catalog, refreshed automatically when catalog changes occur
- UTM attribution — click parameters from ad campaigns are captured at storefront entry and stored per order for campaign-level reporting
Abandoned Carts#
When a cart is abandoned (no activity after a configurable window), an automated multi-step recovery campaign can be triggered via the communication module. Each campaign step is a message sent via email, SMS, or WhatsApp at a configured delay after the previous step.
The campaign is automatically cancelled when the customer completes a purchase, so no recovery message is sent after conversion.
Referrals and Viral Promotions#

Connect the store to social media shopping channels — Instagram, Facebook Shop, TikTok Shop. Product catalog data is synced to each platform and orders originating from social channels are ingested and tracked alongside storefront orders.
